Hello everyone!  I figured I should post something on here since it's been like two months since I've posted anything so here it is. . . Me and my family decided to take some time off and close our restaurant for a couple months.  This has been great! Not only have I gotten a chance to really sit down and dig into some of the latest games it has also allowed me to do some of the heavy lifting on my next comic.  Which is going to be . . . "Reiki Punch!".  Yeah the original was the first comic that I ever finished so it has always be special to me.  But I always felt like I had more stories to tell in that world and now after the experience I've gained from doing "Lubbycats" for a year I feel like I might be up to the task.  After giving it some consideration I decided that I would need to do a complete rewrite of the original in order to make it into a series and just plain better hopefully.  So for people who read the original 45 page one-shot there will be things you recognize as well as things you don't and on top of that I'm gonna do it all in color this time.  Now today was my first day back at my restaurant job from my time off so things will start moving a little slower but I've written at least 3 sketchbooks worth of storyboards and just finished 43 pages of pencils so I'm hoping that will be enough of a buffer for a while.  I don't think I'll be able to meet a monthly schedule with this one like I did with "Lubbycats" but I'm hoping to put in a little more to it and have it also be more pages per chapter. 

That is all I have for now, but now that I'm out from under my comic writing rock I'll keep you guys posted on it's development. . . With that I hope you all the best and can't wait to show you all everything I've been working on.

There is a few thing that have been confusing me lately.  I have overall had a great experience with the community on this site it's been wonderful and I've met some really nice people. . . But there has been a few exceptions and they are so few and far between that I feel bad talking about them but I'm just so confused that I really needed to talk about it.  The situation is like this there is this group that I've been submitting some of my comic covers to(The reason I've only been submitting cover pages is because they have a limit on the amount you can submit per day, and they tend to be really slow on approving submissions).  I've submitted "Lubbycats" cover 1-6 to their "cover art" folder and this morning I get a message telling me to resubmit my chapter 7 cover to the "Fan art" folder.  So then I replied with the question "Can it really be considered fan art and explained that it's a parody comic" they then fired back saying that "they feel it borrows enough from the source material that it should be considered fan art".  So what I'd like to know is:  Is "Lubbycats" just fan art?  Did this person literally just judge a book by it's cover?  Why were the first 6 covers okay and this one is fan art?  When shows like "South Park" or "Gintama" do blatant parodies that borrow from the source material are they "fan art"? Then after thinking about it for a while I remembered another experience I had that was similar to this one where I submitted the original one-shot of "Reiki Punch!" to a groups "One panel/One-shots" folder then was told I submitted to the wrong folder because it had too many pages.  A "one-shot" is a term in the comic/manga world for any self-encapsulated or non-serial story most of the manga or comics out there started as a one-shot.  Why does someone who is running a group dedicated to comics not know what these terms actually mean?  Anyways, that's when I realized this was the same group I'd had problems with before.  So after coming to this realization I decided it's probably best to just move on and not be part of that group anymore.  It's not like I'm angry or anything I just find the whole situation to be kind of baffling.  Sorry if I sound like I'm just complaining but I just had to share this with someone.

Well had some time off and was able to get a lot of research done for the new story line of "Reiki Punch!" and was able to get it outlined enough that I should be able to work on it in the background while I ... drum roll please ... Get back to work on Lubby Cats!  Lubby Cats! will be back next month. I'm hard at work on the rough draft of chapter 7 right now! But in the meantime check out the new "Reiki Punch!" characters that I'll be posting soon sorry if the info on them is a little thin but I'm having to walk that thin line between letting you all know what the characters are about and spoiling stuff.  Anyways hope you all enjoy the new stuff I have planned and it's good to be rested and ready to create again.

Hello everyone! This is the first Journal entry for me so let's see how it goes. I hate to be a downer but I have bad news and a little good news. First the bad news is I'm getting a little fatigued with working my day job as a cook at a local restaurant and keeping up with the monthly schedule of Lubbycats. So I will be taking a little hiatus on Lubbycats in order to recharge and do a little binge video game playing to catch up on some of the great games coming out. But that's not all I've been outlining a new Reiki Punch! story that will expand the universe with this time off.  So that leads me to the good news you can expect some new Reiki Punch! characters and artwork coming soon.

I'm sorry to those of you who have been enjoying Lubbycats.  I just want to get this New Reiki Punch! storyline sorted out enough to storyboard so soon as I feel comfortable with it I should be able to pull off doing it in the background while I pump out some more Lubbycats again. I might have to be a little more flexible with the monthly schedule though we'll see.
